Wi-Fi and Networking

A network you never have to think about.

Wi-Fi that reaches every corner, a firewall that is actually configured, and wiring that is labelled. Costwise designs, installs and supports business networks for offices, shops, clinics and warehouses across Winnipeg and Manitoba.

Slow Wi-Fi, dropped video calls and a router from the internet provider doing a job it was never meant for: that is what most small business networks look like. Costwise replaces guesswork with a design. We measure the space, place access points where people actually sit and work, separate guest and staff traffic, and put a business grade firewall at the edge so the network is both faster and safer.

Once it is in, it is managed. Firmware stays current, changes are documented, and when a new printer, phone or workstation arrives it is added properly instead of plugged into the nearest port. If the internet provider has a bad day, you have one number to call and someone who knows your setup.

What is included

  • Site survey and Wi-Fi design based on your floor plan, walls and how the space is used
  • Business access points, switches and a managed firewall, installed and configured
  • Separate networks for staff, guests, phones and devices such as cameras or point of sale
  • Structured cabling, tidy racks and labelling so the next technician can find things
  • Secure remote access for staff who work from home or on site
  • Monitoring and firmware updates, with changes recorded
  • Coordination with your internet provider when the connection itself is the problem

Who this is for

Businesses moving into a new space, renovating, outgrowing a consumer router, or tired of Wi-Fi dead zones: offices, retail, clinics, shops, warehouses and multi building sites across Manitoba. It pairs naturally with a business phone system, which depends on a stable network to sound good.

How it starts

  1. 1A walk through of the space, in person or from a floor plan.
  2. 2A design and equipment list in plain language, with no surprises later.
  3. 3Installation scheduled around your hours, with staff moved over at a quiet time.
  4. 4Ongoing monitoring and support under your managed IT agreement.

Common questions

Can you work with the internet provider we already have?

Yes. The provider supplies the connection; Costwise looks after everything on your side of it, and deals with them on your behalf when needed.

Do we need new cabling?

Not always. Existing cabling is tested first, and only runs that fail or are missing are replaced or added.

Will guests on our Wi-Fi be able to see our files?

No. Guest traffic runs on its own network that cannot reach staff computers, servers or printers.
